The Professional Development Program at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration is distinguished by its quality instruction in clinical and management practice. Grounded in the dynamic interplay of theory, research, and practice, these workshops are intended to inform social workers and human service professionals and to challenge them to integrate new learning into their daily practice.
SSA faculty, as well as distinguished guest scholars and practitioners, teach PDP offerings:
Continuing Education (CEUs)
The Professional Development Program is a licensed State of Illinois provider of continuing education credits for social workers, clinical psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors (License #s 159.000140, 168.000115, and 268.000004). Some of our workshops offer credits for Early Intervention or CADC licensed professionals applied for through ICB. These credentials will be identified in individual workshop descriptions where applicable.
CEUs are available to meet state licensing requirements and to give recognition of personal initiative and growth. At the end of each session, participants will receive a certificate granting CEUs for the workshop. One CEU is awarded for every classroom contact hour, as noted in the workshop descriptions.
